Ipswich Town could seal promotion to the Championship on Saturday with a win over Exeter City at Portman Road, and fans have shared their view on how they feel ahead of the tie.

Town need just two points from their final two games to secure promotion back to the Championship having spent four seasons in League One.

In front of a sold-out Portman Road, it would be the first promotion the Blues have managed since 2000.

I myself am 26, I can't remember what it was like in 2000 when Town got promoted, so Saturday is a huge game for all those in their mid-20s and younger, to get the first taste of success following Ipswich Town.

Charlotte Fayers won two tickets to the final home game of the season on Saturday after her work colleagues at Elite Universal in Felixstowe helped her win the contest run by React Computer Partnership.

She said: "There were some loud cheers and clapping in the office yesterday morning when I was revealed as the winner.

"I really can't wait for Saturday. I have followed Town since I was a little girl often going to games with my mum and dad and holding a season ticket for many years.

"There is a real buzz around the town and getting tickets to the last game of the season already seems like a big win.

"I am a little nervous still but mostly confident and excited. I can't see them slipping up now and think we will beat Exeter 2-0.

"Champagne is already on ice, bring on the Championship."

Robert Pott who works at React CP, and a season ticket holder at Ipswich, said: "I'm 39 now, I remember going to Wembley in 2000 and that was a great game.

"This season, it is just amazing.

"It puts hairs on the back of your neck just watching the team.

"I don't feel like we are actually going to throw any points away here. It's definitely been a season to remember."

Mike Turbert, who is cutting his hair before the game in honour of Marcus Stewart and Darby Rimmer, said: "I am not nervous.

"This team has won however many games on the pitch and you watch them and think this team is good.

"I can't see this team losing at all.

"If we take an early lead, in the first 15 minutes maybe, things could get away from Exeter and it may be three, four or even five goals against them."

Andrew Macdonald said: "46 years a Town fan, seen the good times, the not so good times and the utter garbage.

"Really exciting to see how McKenna and Co have bought the team and supporters together.

"It will be great to see how far this team can go."

Mike Canham, 64, said: "I have been supporting Town for over 50 years, good times and bad times.

"I am very excited about Saturday and I really believe we can clinch it wither 2-0 or a very nervy 2-1.

"Should be one hell of a party."

Steve Barker, 52, said: "I have supported Town since I was five, and I lived in Norwich.

"I've seen so many highs and lows throughout that time, shed tears of joy and pain.

"I'm still extremely anxious about getting over the line.

"I refuse to engage in talk about promotion or local derby until we achieve it.

"Then the celebrations and tears of joy will begin for me and fingers crossed, that's Saturday."

A fanfare is also planned ahead of the game when the team bus arrives.
