A Suffolk balloons, party and gift shop is opening a new store after 'outgrowing' its existing premises.

A second That's Amore venue is set to open in Crescent Road, Felixstowe because owner Sonia Mayes said the existing shop in High Road West, Walton could not accommodate her plans to expand the gift side of the business.

She plans to separate out the balloons and party side from the gift side, with the Walton premises continuing as a party shop, while the new Felixstowe venue will provide the gifts.

She believed Felixstowe town centre was a better location for the gifts and would attract more customers there.

She said: "We sell a lot of gifts and they are outgrowing the shop that we are currently in, which is just balloons with a little bit of gifts.

"It is starting to look tired and full up and bursting at the seams so I thought 'this is the ideal time to look for a new premise'".

She will collect the keys for the Crescent Road location at the start of May and plans to open next month once the store has been decorated and furnished.

She has previously operated in Felixstowe town centre, having run a pop-up shop at the former Simone's Hairdressers in Hamilton Road, which is now Felixstowe Indoor Market.

Once the new Crescent Road store is up and running, Sonia will divide her time between there and the High Road West shop.

However, she also plans to recruit three more part-time staff to help with running the two stores.

The opening hours for the Crescent Road shop will be 9am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
