Officers have since been liaising with the council about the situation.
An East Suffolk Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of an unauthorised encampment at Manor Terrace Car Park, Felixstowe, and are working with the Norfolk and Suffolk Gypsy, Roma and Traveller liaison team to address the situation.
"Actions will be taken in accordance with the Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Protocol for unauthorised encampments.”
