A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed.
The victim, who is in his 30s, was found injured at about 11pm on Friday, March 31, in Magdalen Street, Colchester.
He was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Essex Police then arrested an 18-year-old man.
Joseph Little, of St Marys Close, Panfield, has since been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, criminal damage and affray.
He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court later today.
Two other people arrested - an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy – have been released on bail until 12 June.
Chief Inspector Colin Cox, district commander for Colchester, said: "I know this incident will have caused concern but Colchester is a safe place.
“We continue to work hard to target violence in all its forms”.
