A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed twice.
Officers were called to reports of a disturbance in Magdalen Street just after 11pm on Friday.
Upon arrival, officers found a man with injuries to his chest and arm.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
An 18 year-old man from Panfield was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon, and criminal damage. He remains in custody.
On Sunday officers arrested a 16 year-old boy from Cambridgeshire on suspicion of attempted murder and an 18 year-old man of no fixed address on suspicion attempted murder.
They both remain in custody.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We believe the incident was deliberately directed towards the victim and it poses no risk to the wider public.
To provide reassurance to the community, additional high visibility patrols have been taking place."
