The A14 has reopened after a fatal three-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were called to the incident just after 6pm on Thursday on the eastbound carriageway near Beyton, on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds.

The closure was in place throughout the night and into the morning as police conducted an investigation.

Just before 1pm today, National Highways confirmed that the investigation had concluded and debris had been cleared from the road.

 

 

A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A 53-year-old van driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers would like to hear from any witnesses to the collision and any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle.
