A Suffolk Post Office may be temporarily relocated while "urgent" building works are carried out.
The Post Office inside the Borehamgate Shopping Centre closed suddenly on Friday.
The shop, which moved into the shopping centre last June, had to be shut for urgent building works.
The Post Office is currently leasing the space from Babergh District Council after the closure of the previous branch in Market Hill.
It has since been confirmed that the Post Office will be closed for six weeks while the works are carried out.
A spokesman has since revealed that a temporary location is being looked at.
The spokesman said: "We are looking to relocate Sudbury Post Office to a new temporary location to restore service.
"The repair work at the current location is expected to take six weeks. We will provide an update when we have further information to share.”
In January last year a popular Sudbury bakery announced its plans to try and save the Post Office.
The owners of Weston's Bakery who have recently taken over a former Winch and Blatch store said they attempted to provide a new home for the town's Post Office inside their new shop.
However the Post Office moved into the Borehamgate Shopping Centre.
