The owner of a popular tearoom which has only been open for two months has revealed plans to expand with an ice cream parlour and traditional sweet shop.
Helen Clutterham and her three daughters opened Ivy and Bond in January in memory of her husband Paul who died after a battle with cancer.
Mrs Clutterham has now revealed her plans to move into the building next door to open up a ice cream parlour and sweet shop.
The mum of three said: "It's an idea I had but I didn't think it would happen quite so quickly but the oppurtunity came up so I decided that maybe now is the right time."
Mrs Clutterham said she believes an ice cream parlour and sweet shop will fit nicely alongside the traditional tea room.
Another reasoning behind the decision was the fact that Long Melford does not have an ice cream parlour currently.
Mrs Clutterham added: "If you look at somewhere like Lavenham they have two ice cream parlours and I think in a place like Long Melford it is something that will work very well especially in the summer."
The people of Long Melford have also been supportive of the plans, Mrs Clutterham said.
She added: "It has been going really well at Ivy and Bond. We have been really welcomed by Long Melford and the community and we now have lots of returning customers and good reviews.
"We didn't know what trading was going to be like when we opened in January but it has been really positive for us."
An opening date for the new ice cream parlour and sweet shop has not yet been announced.
