A 100 metre cordon was put in place after an unexploded bomb was discovered at a beach.
The army was called into Little Oakley beach, near Harwich, on Friday after crews from Walton Coastguard Rescue Team were alerted to the unexploded device.
The Explosive Ordinance Disposal specialists attended the scene and a 100 metre cordon was put in place.
A controlled explosion was carried out by the army.
People are being reminded to be careful of what you kick on a stony or rocky beach.
Last month the bomb disposal unit was called to Suffolk coast after an unexploded device was discovered by police.
