Very rare old steam-powered farm machines - including some ancient mowers - will be gathering in Suffolk as a well-loved show returns.
Woolpit Steam rally - which made a triumphant return in 2022 - is due to take place on June 3 and 4 at Wetherden, near Stowmarket.
To date, the event has raised a cumulative total of more than £300k for charity - and last year was a "huge success", bringing in a record £21k for local causes, say organisers.
Brothers David and Gerald Seeley, who put together the event, said the show is probably best known for its pre-1930 tractor display which rivals many of the largest shows in the country.
"We would expect to see around 20 examples on show," said David.
"We have already received several entries which are new to Woolpit. A further 70 tractors built before 1965 are anticipated. With June being hay making time of year we have decided to stage a special display of hay mowing machinery from the 1880s to the 1960s."
The mowing section will feature machines dating back as far as 1985 with a Bammlet no5 Royal.
Samuelson and A Wood and Co machinery will also be on show and the collection includes horse-drawn equipment and wooden framed mowers from the era before they were made of iron, said Gerald.
"Anybody who turns up for it will be in for a treat," he added.
David said: "We are already being offered some very rare, interesting and historic exhibits, and it is this desire to present to the public such unusual machinery which makes Woolpit Steam different from many other shows.
"This encourages the true enthusiast to travel from all parts of the country but equally captures the imagination of the casual visitor."
The stationary section will feature 80 or so engines - several more than a century old.
Many will be displaying what they were originally designed to do by driving an array of mills, pumps, dynamos and other machinery. A Bamford line shafting display will show one engine powering multiple machines for preparing feed for livestock.
There will also be a sawing display producing planks, posts and firewood.
Another "amazing sight" is a large Caterpillar bulldozer will be demonstrating its power and performance levelling soil, said the brothers.
Vintage cars, motorcycles, commercial and military vehicles will also be on display, and the event will feature more than 50 craft, trade and auto jumble sale stalls. Food and drink stalls include a licensed bar and ice creams.
Mike Rule will be returning with his Steam Gallopers and big wheel supported by side stalls, Punch & Judy and a full ring programme on both days.
Gates are open from 9am to 5pm both days and admission is £8 on Saturday, £9 Sunday for adults and £2 children. Car parking is free and is accessible from Junction 47a on the A14 eastbound, or Junction 49 west bound.
The event is at Warren Farm, Wetherden, IP14 3JX, by kind permission of R & P Baker.
