King Charles III will be making a trip to East Anglia tomorrow in celebration of Colchester being awarded city status.
The monarch will be joined by the Queen Consort to the newly appointed city and during their special trip they will be visiting Colchester Castle, unveiling the name of a baby rhino at Colchester Zoo, and will travel to other historic sites.
During the King's visit High Street, Head Street, North Hill, Culver Street West, Sir Isaacs Walk, Eld Lane, Castle Bailey, Museum Street, St Nicholas Square and Queen Street will all be closed between 7am and 2pm.
The taxi ranks from the High Street and Head Street will be temporarily relocated to North Hill.
Bus services will also be impacted as a result of the royal visit.
Drivers should also be aware that Napier Road South car park will be closed between Monday and Tuesday and Sheepen Road Car Park will be closed on Tuesday.
Local residents are welcome to gather along the High Street and catch a glimpse of His Royal Highness the King and the Queen Consort.
King Charles has visited the area on a number of occasions before he came to the throne.
As Prince of Wales Charles made regular trips to army bases including Wattisham Flying Station in 2013.
