A person has been arrested after police were called to reports of a person lying on train tracks at a Suffolk railway station.
Police were called to the incident at Saxmundham Railway Station on Saturday after a member of the public saw someone lying on the tracks.
Network Rail was immediately contacted and alerted to the situation and asked to place a caution on the line so drivers were aware.
On arrival officers from Halesworth Police found the person involved was messing around and was drunk.
They had also been lying close to the edge of the platform, Halesworth Police said in a social media post.
The person was arrested for trespassing on a railway and was taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning.
Because the incident happened near the train station officers from British Transport Police were also called and dealt with the situation once the man had been arrested.
