The green light has been given for the demolition of a former secondary school in a west Suffolk town.
The previous site of Mildenhall College Academy is set to be demolished, including the school buildings, caretakers bungalow and foundations.
The secondary school and sixth form moved to its new premises within the Mildenhall Hub in Sheldrick Way in May 2021.
The new building includes science labs, music technology and interactive screens for every classroom, as well as public facilities such as new swimming pools, a gym and a sports hall.
The planning application states that the existing buildings on Bury Road will be "a target for vandals" and also details that they contain asbestos and reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete.
It adds that once the foundations have been removed, the land will be left as soft ground and the cleared site will be "available for alternative uses".
Works will commence from mid-April and are expected to finish towards the end of July.
