Bury St Edmunds: Cookie Barista set to open next month

Ben Stamp first opened his food and drink shop Cookie Barista at the Ipswich Microshops in June 2021.

Less than two years later, Mr Stamp is to open a second branch on St John's Street in Bury St Edmunds.

"I just knew this premiseS was ideal and I see lots of potential for the site," he said.

The Bury St Edmunds branch will be offering all of Cookie Barista's familiar favourites, including coffee, bubble tea and, of course, delicious cookies.

Sitting in St John's Street, Mr Stamp is grateful that he will be in the company of other independent shops and added that plenty of business owners have already popped in to say hello.

"It looked like the last time the building was renovated was in the 70s," he said.

"I love a project so we've stripped everything back and started from the beginning."

This latest Bury St Edmunds store is part of Mr Stamp's big plans to open five stores in the next five years.

"I know it's ambitious, but I've always had big aspirations," he said.

As for the Ipswich branch of Cookie Barista, Mr Stamp says he has plenty of family and friends to hold the fort while he's setting up the Bury St Edmunds store.

"I can't thank the Ipswich Microshops enough," he said.

"It's such a good idea to get businesses onto the high street with one, easy to manage bill."

Mr Stamp is hoping to open the Bury St Edmunds store on Friday, March 10 and will be holding an event with promotional offers running throughout his opening weekend.
