Two people have been arrested after a stolen car crashed into a ditch near Sudbury.
The incident happened last night when a family vehicle was stolen outside a shop in Haverhill.
According to Sudbury and Haverhill Police on Facebook, the stolen vehicle was then seen entering the Cavendish area.
Police said: "No pursuit followed because the thieves managed to put the car into a ditch".
Both suspects left the vehicle and the area was "swamped" by officers from Haverhill, Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds.
One suspect was then arrested.
As the search continued, the National Police Air Service sent a helicopter to the Suffolk village to help find the second suspect.
Sudbury and Haverhill Police added: "With their help, the second and final suspect was flushed out after making a brave run into the village churchyard and trying to hide behind a tree".
The car was recovered and the suspects were taken into custody by police, who "wanted to reassure the Cavendish community that all is now well".
