A Suffolk actor has appeared as a monstrous villain in the biggest TV phenomenon in the world at the moment.

Adam Basil has starred in the hit TV show, The Last Of Us, playing the monstrous figure of The Bloater.

Mr Basil grew up in Aldeburgh and has since gone on to appear in some of the biggest films and tv shows of the last few years.

He has worked on Game of Thrones, played as Tom Hardy's stunt double in Venom, and has worked with the likes of Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg.

He got the role in The Last Of Us from knowing Barry Gower, who is the mastermind behind the creatures and prosthetics of Game of Thrones and Stranger Things.

He said: "The creatures were made in England and they needed a local performer, so Barry gave me a call.

"I fitted the stature of this particular monster.

"The Last Of Us was filmed in Calgary and it was minus 40.

"The set itself was incredible though, you had 100 stunt performers, all with up to four hours makeup prosthetics.

"There was a huge fire going on, with it all being coordinated and my character had to come through and just destroy everybody in his path."

Mr Basil stands at 6ft 6ins and appeared in episode five of the HBO show.

He has worked with the show's lead, Pedro Pascal, previously, working on Game of Thrones together.

Growing up in Suffolk, he still comes back to the county regularly and attends the Aldeburgh Carnival as often as he can.

He is soon to appear in TV show Django, and is one of the Orcs in the upcoming Lord of the Rings TV show.

He is also appearing in a film with Jason Statham called Beekeeper.
