It's no surprise that Suffolk is home to some of the loveliest villages in the UK. 

From perfect beaches to areas of outstanding natural beauty there are plenty of things going for the county. 

Here are five of the loveliest villages you should visit in Suffolk. 

Lavenham

Named recetnly as one of the prettiest villages in the UK Lavenham is a place that should be on anyone's list when visiting the area. 

Home to the Harry Potter house, Lavenham, which is arguably one of the country's most well-preserved villages, gives those visiting a chance to take a step back in time.

East Bergholt 

Once home to famous painter John Constable, the pretty hamlet of East Bergholt is one of the largest villages in the Stour valley.

One of the largest villages in the Stour valley and is home to some lovely walks including at Flatford Mill and the surrounding grounds. 

Long Melford 

Set on the banks of the pretty River Stour on the border of Essex and Suffolk, it’s home to Kentwell Hall and Long Melford Hall.

Home to a number of great pubs and cafes Long Melford is a place that is definitely worth a visit. 

Boxford 

The "thriving" village of Boxford was named one of the best places to live in the east of England and is most certainly a place people should visit when in the area.

Located near Sudbury Boxford is home to two pubs and has great amenities including a farmers' market, and what could be the oldest village shop in the country.  

Stutton

Located on the Shotley peninsula Stutton has a community shop, two pubs and a school.

A place to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
