A Sudbury school could be getting a new building, subject to planning permission.
Ormiston Sudbury Academy could have the new building by September 2025, with a final design submitted by Christmas this year.
More details on the design and build should be available in the summer, but the condition of the school means a "significant rebuild" is likely.
MP for South Suffolk, James Cartlidge, said he was "delighted" that the school was selected for funding in July, and that it would be a "major multi-million pound public investment in Sudbury".
Mr Cartlidge added: “From personal experience as a parent I am aware of how school rebuilds boost academic standards.
"I will continue to work with the Trust and the Department for Education to push for the best possible outcome – a significant rebuild, offering the greatest positive impact for pupils.”
A spokesperson for the Academy said: “Our priority continues to be giving our students the best possible education and the opportunities to succeed, and we are excited about how this new building will greatly enhance student experience at our academy.”
