Next week students from across the county will have a chance to look behind the scenes of Suffolk’s nuclear power station.
The Sizewell visitor centre will soon open up for young people to familiarise them with opportunities at Sizewell B and with the Sizewell C project.
National Apprenticeship Week will take place from February 6 to 10 and will include, among others, career and apprenticeship presentations, virtual classroom and an apprenticeship fair.
Josh Wilkins, who is one of the early apprentices to be taken on for Sizewell C and who has just graduated and got a full-time job with the project, said: “I joined Sizewell C as a project controls apprentice.
“My family recommended the apprenticeship to me as both my dad and grandad worked on the construction of Sizewell B.
“I graduated and am now a Power Business Intelligence Developer. I am learning so much and really enjoy combining learning with on-the-job experience.”
Sizewell C is currently looking for quantity surveyor, project controls, civil engineering and nuclear engineering apprentices.
Sizewell B is looking for six maintenance engineering apprentices and a degree level chemistry apprentice.
