With rising energy prices and the impact of the cost of living crisis, a number of Suffolk pubs have confirmed they have shut down so far in 2023.
Here is a list of the pubs that closed down in the last month.
The Bunbury Arms
The Great Barton pub, which was popular for its carveries, closed down last month.
Greene King, which owns the property, confirmed it is searching for a new landlord to take charge of the building.
A spokesman for Greene King said: "We can confirm The Bunbury Arms has been closed by our tenant and we are looking for a new partner to operate this pub with us.
"The pub is well known within the area and popular for its great food and drink offering.
"Our search for a new partner has only just begun so anyone interested should get in touch to find out more."
The Swan
The Swan in Monks Elieigh announced its closure - just eight months after it was taken over.
The pub in the village, near Hadleigh, was taken over by Denis Young last May.
A brief statement posted on the pub's Facebook page said: "The Swan M E Ltd has ceased trading from The Swan, Monks Eleigh with immediate effect.
"The Swan will be closed until further notice."
It has since been confirmed that new owners Julie and Stephen Penney will be taking over the reins once again as they look to breathe new life into the business later this year.
The pair first bought The Swan in 2018 after being "full of hopes and dreams" about running the countryside establishment.
The Cock Inn
Rising energy costs and dwindling footfall resulted in The Cock Inn to close its doors for the last time.
The Little Thurlow pub announced its closure in a statement on its website.
A statement on the pub's website read: "CLOSED due to astronomical energy costs and dwindling footfall."
The George
The Cavendish pub closed down at the start of January after the business struggled to recover from the coronavirus pandemic.
Landlord Lewis Bennet said: "It's gutting because we have been here for over 12 years.
"We built up a really good reputation and people seemed to really love it there.
"Shutting the doors was a really, really hard decision to make.
"I have a really small, tight team and to break the news to them was heartbreaking because they stuck by me through thick and thin.
