A man has been taken to hospital after two air ambulances were among the emergency services at the scene of a serious two-vehicle crash on the A14.
Emergency services were called to the crash in the eastbound carriageway near the Seven Hills Interchange at about 7am on Monday.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "Three ambulances, and ambulance officer vehicle and two Essex and Herts Air Ambulance helicopters were sent to the A14 near Stratton Hall this morning following reports of a serious road traffic collision.
"One man was transported by road ambulance to Ipswich Hospital in a serious condition."
UPDATE: A14 reopens after serious crash
The crash has also caused severe delays around the town centre this morning.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews were also called to the crash.
Appliances from Ipswich East, Princes Street and Felixstowe attended the scene.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said it is not yet clear when the road will reopen.
