The trial of a 30-year-old Suffolk man accused of causing the death of a cyclist by dangerous driving in Bury St Edmunds will take place in June.

Before Ipswich Crown Court for a case management hearing on Friday (January 27) was Alexander Martin, of Tulyar Walk, Newmarket.

He has denied causing the death of Stephen Lawrence, from Risby, by dangerous driving on April 12, 2021.

Police were called at 6pm on April 12, 2021, to a crash involving a bicycle and a blue Nissan Qashqai in Newmarket Road, Bury St Edmunds.

Paramedics and the air ambulance were also called to the incident, but Mr Lawrence died at the scene.

Martin’s trial is due to take place on June 12.
