Two villages in Suffolk have been named among the top 45 most popular honeymoon spots in the UK.

The villages of Lavenham and Orford were ranked 24rd and 32nd on a list compiled by individual researchers from Fabulous Bingo and were counted among other such beauty spots as the Isles of Skye and Castle Combe in the Cotswolds.

Lavenham is often considered to be Britain’s best-preserved medieval village and isn't far from Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Dedham Vale nature reserve.

The village is host to The Swan at Lavenham Hotel & Spa which picked up a Blue Ribbon at the 2023 Good Hotel Awards, and The Airmen's Bar, complete with memorabilia and signatures of USAAF personnel stationed at Lavenham Airfield during World War II.

Coastal gem Orford took 32nd place on the list, winning hearts with its 10th-century castle, pretty cottages and picturesque quay.

Burnham Market in Norfolk was ranked 25th on the list.
