Footage showing the movements of two men before and after a chef was stabbed with a "Zombie" knife in a Bury St Edmunds car park has been shown in court.
Appearing in Ipswich Crown Court, Alexander Cornell, Britannia Road, Ipswich, stands accused of attempted murder after an incident on July 4 last year.
CCTV footage was shown on day three of his trial, though there is no actual CCTV of the incident, the court heard today.
It is alleged that Cornell had been “infatuated to the point of obsession” with his manager while employed as a bartender at the Miller and Carter restaurant in Ipswich.
The 27-year-old was so obsessed that he ambushed her boyfriend, Blazej Piortowski, with a "Zombie" knife, the court heard earlier this week.
Today, CCTV shown in court saw a red car arriving at the Parkway car park at around 6.30am on July 4.
This car was followed by Cornell's white Ford Fiesta, with only a six-second gap between the two cars.
Mr Piortowski later returns to the car park at around 2pm.
Although there is no footage at the exact location of the incident, he was later spotted making his way back to Bill’s restaurant in Bury St Edmunds, where he worked.
The court heard earlier this week that he had tightened the straps of a backpack he was wearing to stop the bleeding from his wounds before returning to the restaurant.
Today, the court heard how Cornell put a red jacket on over his silver jacket after the incident, with footage later showing Cornell heading back to his home in Britannia Road, Ipswich.
Emergency services were called just after 2.30pm and the victim was taken to West Suffolk Hospital for treatment, where he had sutures in the most serious wound.
In October, Cornell pleaded not guilty to the charge of attempted murder but admitted to wounding Mr Piortowski with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm and having a blade in a public place.
The prosecution is due to complete its case on Wednesday, and defence starting tomorrow.
