The 16-year-old boy who was stabbed in a Haverhill car park this week died from a stab to the heart, a post-mortem examination has found.
Harley Barfield died two days after being attacked in a car park in Strasbourg Square on Monday afternoon.
The teenager was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for treatment, before being transferred to the nearby Royal Papworth Hospital in a critical condition.
Police later confirmed he died on Wednesday morning.
A Home Office post-mortem examination was conducted on Thursday and found Harley suffered a number of stab and puncture wounds, one of which was to his heart and proved to be fatal.
Another 16-year-old boy from the Haverhill area, who cannot be named due to his age, has been charged with his murder and appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court and Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday.
He has been remanded in custody ahead of his next appearance at Ipswich Crown Court on Friday, March 10.
