More than £8,000 has been fundraised to cover the costs of the funeral for 16-year-old Harley Barfield, who died after being stabbed in Haverhill.
Harley Barfield died on Wednesday morning after being stabbed in a car park in Strasbourg Square on Monday afternoon.
The fundraiser, which has been set up by Carol Long, has already raised over £8,000.
On the online fundraiser Ms Long said: "I, like many others, am truly shocked at what's happened.
"As a mother, I cannot begin to imagine how this family are dealing with this tragedy.
"No mother expects to bury their child, and I am using GoFundMe to try and raise money for the family to pay for a funeral.
"I have absolutely no connection personally to the family but feel compelled to try and help."
A picture of Harley was released by Suffolk police on Thursday.
Emergency services including the air ambulance were called to a car park close to Strasbourg Square at about 3.05pm on Monday.
After officers discovered Harley was injured, he was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for treatment, before being transferred to the nearby Royal Papworth Hospital in a critical condition.
However, police confirmed he died on Wednesday morning.
Another 16-year-old boy has been charged with his murder and appeared before Suffolk Magistrates' Court and Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday.
