A woman has been arrested after a man was assaulted in Ipswich.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in the Gainsborough area of the town at about 5.50pm on Saturday, December 31 in Robeck Road.
Officers believe an altercation happened in the doorway of a house, where a man and a woman were on the outside of the address trying to gain entry.
Following this, a man inside the house sustained an injury to his arm and has since been taken to hospital.
The victim’s injury is not considered to be life-threatening or life-changing.
A section of Robeck Road was closed off while officers searching for the two suspects made enquiries at another property in the road.
A woman has subsequently been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm and taken to Martlesham Police Station for questioning.
Enquiries to locate the male suspect are continuing.
Detectives understand that the victim and suspects are known to each other and as such are treating this as an isolated incident.
