A Chinese takeaway in Bury St Edmunds has applied to move into the empty building next door after they couldn't obtain a renewal on their current lease.
Jasmine Chinese Takeway is looking to move one-door down, from 32A to 34 Cadogan Road, in order to avoid closing their business.
The site previously operated as Gina Giles Hairdressing, meaning it requires a change of use application from a hairdressers to a takeaway.
Jasmine Chinese Takeaway added that it has established a regular, local customer-base within the town and does not wish to move further afield.
The company has also applied for permission to install a flue and extraction/ventilation system alongside this change of use.
According to the planning statement, the owner of 34 Cadogan Road is happy to lease their unit to an "established local business".
If approved, all the takeaway's equipment would simply be moved from next door, meaning business could resume in a relatively short time-span.
