Wintery showers and snow has been forecast for Suffolk as temperatures are expected to drop below freezing.
The arctic blast has arrived bringing with it the potential for snow in Suffolk tonight.
The forecast comes alongside a yellow weather warning for ice which was issued by the Met Office and a severe cold weather alert as temperatures could reach as low as -4C tomorrow.
Weather forecasters at the East Anglian-based Weatherquest have said that snowfall is more likely in east Suffolk.
Weather expert Dan Holley said: "Local small accumulations are possible, mainly on grassy surfaces.
"Ice will be the main hazard as showers may wash grit off some roads."
The cold snap ould increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services, the alert said.
People are also being reminded to keep their homes heated to at least 18C - particularly if they have reduced mobility, are 65 or older, or have a health condition.
