Suffolk has been named the best place to retire to in the UK.
The county was named as one of the best places to wind down by the financial website Unbiased.
Financial journalist Nick Green said: "Tucked away in the east of England, Suffolk is known for its sleepy chocolate box villages, but also for its still-trendy seaside towns and pretty coastline – a favourite for artists due to the special quality of the light off the sea."
A number of Suffolk's seaside towns have received national recognition. One of them is Aldeburgh, which was recognised for its beautiful beaches and was also named as one of the prettiest towns in the UK.
It is not just the seaside towns that make Suffolk so special but its historic market towns as well.
Hadleigh was named as one of the best places to live in the country by the expert property finders at Garrington.
But it is not just the towns and villages that receive national recognition.
More than 30 Suffolk restaurants have been included in the prestigious AA Restaurant Guide for 2023 after the county was crowned one of the best places for food connoisseurs.
Suffolk is a place where people can happily retire to but still have plenty to do.
