Police have released CCTV images after an attack left a boy permanently blind in one eye.
Officers were on patrol on July 31 when they came across a boy lying unconscious in the middle of Pier Avenue, Clacton, at about 1am.
Essex Police's enquiries indicated that the boy had been involved in an altercation shortly beforehand.
The victim was on his way home when he was approached by a group of young people outside Jennings betting shop.
The victim was then seriously assaulted.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which have resulted in permanent blindness in one eye.
The assault has remained under investigation and police released images of four young people they would like to speak to.
One person has now been identified, but officers are still looking to identify three others.
Anyone who knows who they are or has any information which could assist with officers' investigation should contact the force.
Police are also looking for people with CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident.
