Retrospective planning permission has been sought for a loft apartment currently operating as a "charming" holiday let in a Suffolk village.
The Hayloft at Pilgrims Barn, in Hitcham, was refurbished with Babergh District Council's permission in Spring 2021 and was first rented as a holiday let in June.
The applicant, who lives in Pilgrims Barn on Bury Road, is now seeking permission for a change of use for their annexe from residential use to a holiday let.
The barn itself dates from the 16th century with the outbuilding, which is now the Hayloft, thought to be around 100 years old.
The advert describes the property as a "charming, detached loft apartment situated within the grounds of a Grade II-listed Suffolk barn, on the outskirts of the picturesque village".
The holiday let is structured as an open-plan living space on the first floor and has its own self-contained kitchen and bathroom facilities.
It boasts "bright and airy" views and claims to be the "perfect holiday destination for those wishing to get away from it all".
