Completing 3,000 push-ups in one month has been no trouble for one 10-year-old from Suffolk - even while on a family holiday in Thailand.

Roman Ward from Stowmarket, is nearing the end of his challenge to complete 3,000 push-ups in November, for Teenage Cancer Trust.

He has been trying to do 100 push-ups every day, in stints of between 25 and 30 at a time.

Throughout the challenge, he has been supported by friends from school, his rugby team, brother Rocky and dad Gareth, and has even done push-ups in Thailand.

Roman's mum, Amber, said: "He saw it on Facebook being advertised and he just asked whether he could do it, and it has pushed him but he has done well.

"His auntie had cancer, and he wanted to do the challenge just to raise awareness for teenage cancer.

"It is definitely getting the word out, his school put it in their newsletter and his rugby club put it out on their sites so it is amazing what he is doing.

"He has improved so much over the month, to do 100 every day is very impressive, and sometimes he has had to catch up so has had to do more than 100.

"It has been tough though, he has had to fit it in around school, and the flights to and from Thailand, but he has kept on track and we are really proud.

"It has been fun as well for him, he has done push-ups while we were away, at the airport and in some great places, so it has been good."

So far, Roman has raised around £550 for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Mrs Ward said: "We are shocked at how much he has raised just from seeing an advert and thinking he could do that.

"It is amazing how well he is doing and how much support he has had from people as well is great."
