The A12 has reopened after a crash involving two lorries.

Emergency services were called to the major Suffolk road just south of Yoxford.

Four fire appliances were sent to the scene from Leiston, Saxmundham, Halesworth and Lowestoft.

Once there, crews helped to remove one casualty from a vehicle, a spokesman for Suffolk County Council said.

The air ambulance was also spotted in the area at the time of the crash.

Suffolk police confirmed that one man has been taken to hospital but his injuries are not considered to be life changing or threatening.

Suffolk Police had warned drivers to expect delays and to avoid the route if possible earlier in the day.

The road reopened at about 4.20pm.
