Based on reviews and opinions from customers, these hotels have been highly rated on Tripadvisor for their service, quality, customer satisfaction and more.

Here are the top seven independent places to stay in Suffolk that have been included in the review site's guide.

1. Salthouse Harbour Hotel 

The hotel, which is located on the Ipswich Waterfront, has received 1,537 excellent reviews.

2. The Swan 

This popular Southwold hotel has received 742 excellent reviews on Tripadvisor. 

The hotel was also recently named among the best hotels by the British seaside

3. Ufford Park Woodbridge Hotel 

The east Suffolk hotel, which boasts a golf club and spa, is set in 120 acres of historic parklands.

4. The Hotel Victoria 

The seaside hotel was named as one of the best hotels to stay in Suffolk. 

The owner of the hotel went viral during the coronavirus pandemic. 

One review reads: "The beds were comfortable and bathroom all good.

"The breakfast was lovely with lots of choice of things to eat."

5. The Angel Hotel 

Perhaps Bury St Edmunds' most iconic building, The Angel Hotel is one of the best places to rest your head in Suffolk. 

The hotel also offers an afternoon tea experience whilst overlooking the historic Abbey Gardens and Angel Hill.

6. Tuddenham Mill

If you are looking for a romantic getaway, then  Tuddenham Mill is your place to stay.

The Tuddenham Mill restaurant was also recently named as one of the best in the country

Located in the village in Long Melford, the Bull Hotel has also been named as one of the best places to stay in Suffolk by a travel guide.
