New plans have been revealed for the controversial replacement of Boxted Bridge.
Essex County Council believe that the bridge, which provides a crossing over the River Stour across the Suffolk/Essex border, needs to be demolished and replaced in a project believed to cost around the £1 million mark.
In planning documents Essex County Council says: "The proposed replacement of Boxted Bridge and associated highway improvements is a necessary development for the purposes of safety."
Now Essex Highways has revealed the latest designs for the bridge which are with the planning department.
A spokesperson for Essex Highways said: “We have provided updated and additional views that reflect the latest designs for Boxted Bridge to the planning department.
“This includes more details for the proposed materials and parapets as well as clarifications on the appearance of the proposal, an updated landscape assessment and a clarification on the ecological constraints.
“We have made some alterations on the proposed design to more closely reflect the appearance of the existing structure."
