Plans to turn the former car park of a pub in Brome into a dog daycare centre have been submitted.

The scheme would see a former outbuilding and the car park of the Swan pub - which is now Swanwick House - turned into a dog daycare unit and exercise yard.

If approved by Mid Suffolk District Council, the centre, just off the A140, would operate Monday to Friday, between 7am and 6pm.

East Anglian Daily Times:

The planning statement for the project says the scheme would "enhance the vitality of Brome and surrounding areas, offering services benefiting animal welfare and residents."

"Rural communities are changing and the supply of commercial uses and facilities in the District’s prime commercial corridors should be endorsed," it reads.

"There has been a stand-out need for rural enterprise and a high demand for commercial property, particularly for smaller businesses."

A decision on the plans is expected in mid-December.
