Guests at a Suffolk house can expect a warm welcome and some fiendishly good treats  when it opens its doors for Halloween.

Woodbridge man Lorrie Thackeray is hoping visitors have a frightfully enjoyable stay when they arrive at number 54 Peterhouse Crescent and has prepared a few extra surprises to help people settle in.

Though please be aware... entry is at the guest’s own risk and they may encounter the odd monster and chainsaw-wielding killer, not to mention a bath filled with blood and a few body parts lying around.

Some of the portraits around the house will also make for interesting viewing, while there is a maze to navigate in the back garden, should anyone wish to leave.

The father-of-two is bringing his spooky annual display back from the dead after having to cancel in recent years due to restrictions imposed during the pandemic and his dog’s ill health.

This time, he is hoping to lure in more than the 360 people who attended pre-pandemic and has prepared some extra props to entertain the guests, including bins filled with fire and monsters that jump out at people.

There will also be air cannons that make loud noises and atmospheric music, while his living room will be decorated and have spooky strobe lighting to add to the air of horror.

Mr Thackeray’s partner Rebecca Gooch will welcome everyone, who will enter the house six people at a time.

He said: “All the props are set up and ready to go. We are really excited about being able to welcome visitors.”

The event also helps to raise money for charities, usually around £300 and this year’s good cause will be Cancer Research UK.
