A van was abandoned after it was involved in a crash in an east Suffolk village.
The incident happened on the B1127 in South Cove, just outside of Southwold, shortly before 4am on Thursday.
The road was shut outside of St Lawrence's Church, Suffolk police said.
A member of public reported seeing an overturned van, but when police arrived there was no one in the vehicle.
Recovery was called and arrived shortly after 6am.
The road reopened by 7.45am.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area while the van was recovered.
Enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver and establish the circumstances of the collision.
