THE Silver Ski Rockets' run of successive wins at Hoddesdon finally came to an end in the second part of Saturday night's double header. Last beaten around their own circuit in September 2006, the Rockets had won 65 straight matches and were just nine wins short of matching their all-time record of 74 set across 1977-1981.
However, Birmingham spoilt the party on Saturday with a 46-43 win.
The Brummies took full advantage of the Rockets being tired and jaded after their earlier exertions against King's Lynn.
Captain Chris Neath top scored for Rye House but it wasn't enough to prevent the visitors returning to the Second City with all three Premier League match points.
Rye House: Robert Mear 8, Joe Haines 5+1
