TAMAS Priskin has left Ipswich Town after reaching an agreement with the Blues over the last few months of his contract.

The Hungarian international was out of contract at the end of the season but Town boss Paul Jewell has acted swiftly to clear the striker off the wage bill.

The striker was signed by Roy Keane in August 2009 for �1.7 million and made 60 appearances for the Blues, scoring nine goals.

Priskin said: “It has been a privilege to play for a club of Ipswich Town’s standing and I would like to wish the players and all involved at the club all the best for the future.”

And chief executive Simon Clegg added: “We have today terminated Tamas’ contract by mutual agreement. I would like to wish him every success over the rest of his career.”

Priskin has never been able to truly win over the fans, only showing occasional moments of his ability, and going out on loan to QPR, Swansea and Derby.

But he will always be remembered for scoring the winner in last season’s memorable Carling Cup semi-final win over Arsenal at Portman Road.
