Police are appealing for information after a large stack of bales was set alight in West Row.
The fire occurred at 4.30am this morning, Monday, January 6, in a field in Hurdle Drove.
In the region of 800 straw bales, weighing 250 tonnes, were destroyed as a result of this incident.
One fire crew was sent to the fire in Hurdle Drove in the early hours of this morning.
After receiving a call at 4.42am the crew arrived on the scene to find the baled straw well alight. The straw has been allowed to burn under supervision.
