Drama student Hannah Dodd has landed her dream job in a Christmas advertising campaign for fashion brand Burberry – starring alongside Romeo Beckham.
The 19-year-old, from Leavenheath, gets to combine her modelling and dance skills in the commercial, entitled From London With Love, which was shot at Elstree Film Studios and will be shown in cinemas and on social media.
In the ad, the Beckham’s 12-year-old son brings together a couple played by Hannah and Anders Hayward through Burberry gifts.
Hannah, a former Ormiston Sudbury Academy pupil, only secured her first major modelling assignment earlier this year as one of the faces of fashion retailer Primark’s spring/summer lingerie campaign.
Overnight, she went from appearing in school musicals to seeing 20ft tall images of herself on billboards, and now she will also get to see herself on the big screen.
Hannah attended a star-studded launch party at Burberry’s flagship London store on Monday, which was attended by the Beckhams, and she is still finding her success hard to take in.
She said: “I had an audition via my agency (Select Model Management) and was amazed when they said I had got the job.
“It took a week to shoot the film including rehearsals and I got to dance as well as model so it was the dream job for me. The cast and crew were lovely and Romeo Beckham is such a sweet kid – it was so much fun to work with them all.
“The launch event was the first time we got to see the whole film through – it was so exciting.”
Hannah is currently studying for a degree in dance and theatre studies having honed her skills at Ormiston Sudbury Academy, where she took BTEC qualifications in performing arts and acting, as well as A-levels in dance and PE.
She also scooped the overall award for commitment to performing arts at the academy’s annual “Oscars”.
Ormiston Sudbury Academy principal, Caroline Wilson, said: “I am delighted Hannah has continued with the same vein of success and professionalism as she did when she was a student here.
“She is a source of inspiration to students and I am proud to say that she was part of Ormiston Sudbury Academy.”
