A children’s author has visited a library to explain to youngsters how his books are created.

James Campbell, author of the Boy Face books, alongside the series’ illustrator, Mark Weighton, came along to Stowmarket Library for the event. Around 20 children and their families heard how the two make the books fun to read.

Ursula Scott, library manager, said: “He spoke to the children about how he comes up with the characters and the plots. Anything that encourages children to read is a good thing; the books are very much like the Roald Dahl books in terms of being humorous and irreverent. It’s also important to get people into the library for these sort of events.”

The visit followed a similar event last year – both funded by Stowmarket Town Council.
