A moped rider has been killed in an accident involving two cars in Lowestoft today.
Suffolk police were called to the crash, in Tom Crisp Way, near to the roundabout and junction for the A12/A145, at 10.55am.
Two ambulance crews, a rapid response vehicle and the East Anglian Air Ambulance was sent to the scene, however the moped rider, a male who’s age has not yet been confirmed, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of one of the cars was taken to James Paget Hospital.
Tom Crisp Way is closed in both directions from Stradbroke Road direction to Blackheath Road whilst officers continue the collision investigation.
Fire crews from Beccles, Leiston and Southwold attended and helped free one casualty who was trapped.
Any witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting reference CAD 124 of 29 October 2015.
