West Suffolk residents are being reminded that the second year of the garden waste collection service starts in April.

Those in Forest Heath and St Edmundsbury can pay £40 a year for the brown bin service. The charge was introduced against a lot of opposition in 2016.

Last year more than 28,000 households signed up to use the service.

David Bowman and Peter Stevens, cabinet members for operations at Forest Heath and St Edmundsbury respectively, issued a joint statement. They said: “We are really delighted with community support for this service, which turns their garden waste into compost to be used on farms and in parks.”
