A 13-year-old boy from Frinton who was missing for 12 days has been found by officers in Essex today.

Patrick Casey had last been seen at around 1pm on Friday, March 18, when he set off to visit a friend in Clacton.

A missing person appeal was launched by Essex Police a few days later on March 23 and concerns were growing for Patrick’s welfare.

The force’s post to find him was shared on Facebook more than 106,000 times, with posts by media organisations, friends and family members also shared hundreds of times.

Today, Wednesday, March 29 police found Patrick – and thanked members of the public for their help with the appeal.

Chief Inspector Russ Cole, Essex Police’s district commander for Tendring, said he was grateful to those who had shared the appeal for information about Patrick’s whereabouts.

“I want to thank the public for sharing this appeal,” he said.
