Drivers in Suffolk and Essex are being warned of the latest major roadworks taking place this week.

Highways England is continuing its work to resurface the A120. Link roads from the A120 westbound and Priory Wood roundabout to the M11 southbound will be closed for an entire weekend, from 9pm on Friday until 6am on Monday. A diversion will be in place via the Priory Wood roundabout, Birchanger roundabout and M11 junction 8.

Resurfacing and lighting maintenance work also continues on the A120 between Marks Tey and Marks Farm.

The road will be closed in both directions between A12 junction 25, Marks Tey, and the B1024, Coggeshall, overnight, between 8pm and 6am, until Friday. Diversions will be in place via the A131, A130, A12, and vice versa.

Temporary traffic lights will also be in use on the A120 between Marks Farm Roundabout, Braintree and the B1024, Coggeshall overnight, between 8pm and 6am, until Friday.

Work to repair a damaged bridge on the A12 near Kelvedon, between junctions 23 and 24 also continues.

The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5am, from Saturday 13 May for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B1024.

While bridge repair work is completed off site, road users may notice a section of the bridge missing overhead. The bridge will be reinstated at a later date.

Work to repair drainage along the A120 near Wix continues this week. Temporary traffic lights and a 40mph speed limit will be in place overnight, between 8pm and 5am, until Friday.

Teams are clearing weeds on the A14. This will be done during the day between Monday 8 and Friday 12 May.

They will also be carrying out litter picking on the M11, including between junctions nine and 14, near Saffron Walden.

Teams are also cleaning and replacing signs in that area, as well as near junction eight for the A120 and Stansted Airport.

This will be done using lane closures overnight between 8pm to 6am until Friday May 12.

Resurfacing work also continues at junction eight of the M11 this week. The M11 southbound carriageway will have lane closures in place for an entire weekend, from 9pm on Friday May 12 until 6am on Monday May 15.
