The enchanting gardens and spectacular grounds of Langham Hall will be open to the public this Sunday.

Now under new ownership, visitors are being invited to come and explore the grounds surrounding the hall, as well as the church of St Mary’s which also sits on the site.

The hall, just south of Bury St Edmunds, also boasts a beautiful walled garden which is thought to date back to 1705 when the first section of about two and a half acres were walled off.

The garden also reportedly once had 15 gardeners tending to its upkeep but, after years of neglect, became riddled with weeds.

Now it is back to its former glory and on show for visitors to enjoy.

Tea on the lawns will be available at the event this weekend too, and the Bellflower Nursery will be open for people to purchase summer-flowering plants.

Entry is £2.50 and children go free.

The day runs from 2-5pm and all proceeds will go to St Mary’s Church.
