Want a smooth route into work this week? Here are the upcoming roadworks in Suffolk and Essex that are best to steer clear of.
A list of planned roadworks, by Highways England, warns of road improvements on stretches of the A14 near Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds, vegetation clearance on the A12 in Essex, safety improvements on the A120 near Harwich and drainage surveys and barrier repairs on the M11 near Stansted Airport.
Here is the full list of planned roadworks where you live from Monday, January 8, to Sunday, January 14:
A14 Suffolk: vegetation clearance
Work to improve journeys by clearing vegetation along the A14 verges westbound between Felixstowe and Newmarket will continue. Lane closures will be in place past the section being worked on, between 8pm and 6am.
A14 Junction 40 to Junction 43 eastbound
Work to reconstruct and resurface the dual carriageway between junctions 40 and 43 continues this week. Full eastbound closures are required weeknights only between 8pm and 6am until 26 January. During the work, there will be a clearly signed diversion route in place via the A1304 towards the A11, and then onto A1101, back to the A14 junction 43.
A14 Orwell to Junction 62
Work to resurface the concrete carriageway between Orwell and Levington; and the carriageway inlay between Levington and Junction 62 continues this week. The work is being carried out in sections between 9pm and 6am each night (Monday to Friday), requiring junction closures on the A14 between Orwell and Junction 62. Signed diversion routes will be in place for each of the junction closures.
A14 Cambridgeshire: vegetation clearance
Work to improve journeys by clearing vegetation along the A14 verges westbound between Newmarket and Ipswich continues. Lane closures will be in place past the section being worked on between 8pm and 6am.
A12 Essex: vegetation clearance
Work to improve journeys by clearing vegetation along the A12 verges east and westbound between Ipswich and Brentwood. Lane closures will be in place past the section being worked on overnight, between 8pm and 6am.
A12 Junction 32B Capel St Mary, Suffolk: safety fence replacement
Work continues this week to replace the safety fence barrier on the A12. Lane closures with a 40mph speed restriction will be in place east and westbound Monday to Friday 8pm to 6am.
M11 junctions 7 Harlow to 8 Stansted, Essex: drainage surveys
Drainage surveys on the M11 southbound between junctions 7 and 8 will continue. While work takes place overnight, the outside lane in both directions will be closed between 8pm and 6am, weeknights only.
M11 junctions 6 M25 to 9 A11: barrier repairs
Work to repair damaged safety barriers along the M11 will continue this week. Single lane closures will be in place past the work area from 9pm to 5am, weeknights only.
